ACTONA POLAND is looking for an experienced project manager to join our Product Development department and take part in driving and developing the future products of home furniture.
About the Job
As Product Development Project Manager you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to drive the development and launch of new products. This role involves overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, from idea and concept to market release. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies, a keen understanding of product design and engineering principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments including R&D, prototyping, marketing, sales, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and implementation of project tasks and milestones, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and specifications.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and resources, adjusting as necessary to meet project objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues during the product development process.
- Facilitate communication across all project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and visibility.
- Monitor and report on project progress, including performance metrics and budget tracking.
- Foster an innovative and creative environment that encourages team problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all product development activities comply with company standards, industry regulations, and quality management systems.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in project management, specifically in product development within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is highly desirable.

The ability to lead and motivate a team is also crucial, as the role involves working with diverse groups of people to achieve a common goal.
- Furthermore, excellent communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project objectives and progress.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are important for identifying issues and implementing effective solutions quickly.
- Risk management is another key skill, involving the ability to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent project derailment. Proficiency in project management software and tools is also important for tracking project progress and metrics.
- Additionally, a Product Development Project Manager must have a strong commercial awareness to understand market needs and ensure that the product will meet these when launched. They should also possess a good grasp of quality assurance principles to ensure that the product not only meets design specifications but also adheres to regulatory standards and customer expectations.
- Leadership skills are paramount, as the role requires guiding and influencing teams without direct authority and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Time management and organizational skills are also vital, as managing multiple project timelines simultaneously is a common requirement.
- Lastly, continuous learning and adaptability are important, as product development is a rapidly evolving field, and staying abreast of new methodologies, technologies, and consumer trends is essential for success in this role.
- Travel: 20-30 days per year. Fairs, customers, production etc.
